About Us

The Esperança Viva Group (GEV) is an instrument of evangelization, being an extension of Fazenda da Esperança in society. The initiative was born in the year 2000 with the mission of offering spiritual support to ES (These are the initials of the word “Esperança”, the name given by the founders to those who finish 1 year of recovery on the Farms and who struggle to rebuild their lives).

In these 20 years of existence, the GEV has grown and, in view of the search for family members for support, it has opened up to all people who identify with the Charism of Hope, that is, in living the Gospel as a lifestyle. Today there are about 280 groups spread across 15 countries, with an average monthly participation of 12 thousand people, including Es, family members, people looking to find their sobriety, and others who wish to deepen the spirituality that animates the Farms of Hope .

The group participants meet weekly to meditate on the Word of God, share experiences and promote concrete actions in society. Among the actions carried out are: receiving and guiding young people interested in recovering at the Farm, in addition to their families, visiting prisons and peripheries and developing social actions, in the same family atmosphere experienced in the communities of Fazenda da Esperança.

A "Word of Life" is proposed monthly, taken from the Gospel, to be deepened and taken as the spiritual goal of the month. Participants receive newsletters and concrete proposals for the needs of the Farm, for which they are invited to collaborate, in addition to participating in missions to open new farms. It is a real boost in society, for those who experience this experience, and who live the Word, overflow with love and begin to spread this experience.
