The Sanctuary of Hope celebrates 3 years of existence, and invites you to come visit and get to know the charism of Hope closely.
Inaugurated in 2007, by Pope Benedict XVI, the church dedicated to Frei Galvão and Santa Crescência, in 2016 it was elevated to Sanctuary, and started receiving pilgrims from all over the world. Its tent format welcomes people in a unique way, bringing peace and comfort.
The then archbishop of Aparecida, Dom Raimundo Damasceno, understood that daily miracles happened in this church. Young people who had their lives destroyed by the slavery of drugs, after having an experience with God at Fazenda da Esperança, managed to give a new direction to their stories.
On January 30, 2016, the church of Frei Galvão and Santa Crescência was elevated to Sanctuary of Hope. And today, receiving pilgrims daily brings immense joy to all those welcomed, it is the opportunity to present the charism of Hope to all who visit us.
Frei Galvão was canonized by Pope Benedict XVI (becoming known as the first Brazilian saint), on May 11, 2007, on his visit to Brazil. Santa Crescência, was canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2001, its origin is the southern region of Germany, the same as the Pope Emeritus and for whom he has great devotion.
