The realization of “a dream that was born about 15 years ago”, says Dom Marcos Piatek before the blessing and inauguration of Fazenda da Esperança São Raimundo, in Coari, Amazonas, which will take place on October 2, 2021.
Among the events planned for the inauguration of the Fazenda da Esperança São Raimundo is a motorbike, concentrating on Praça São Sebastião, next to the cathedral, at 8:00 am, to the headquarters of the Farm, located at Km 9 of the Coari-Mamiá road, where the Diocesan bishop will preside at a Eucharistic celebration at 9:00 am.
Dom Marcos recalls that “Jesus came so that everyone may have life and have it in abundance”, insisting that “the inauguration of the Fazenda da Esperança São Raimundo is very important for the Diocese of Coari and for our population in general”.
The diocesan bishop recalls that until now, people affected by chemical dependency were sent to the Fazenda da Esperança, in Manaus. According to Monsignor Marcos Piatek, "the opening of the Fazenda da Esperança São Raimundo falls within the New Guidelines for Evangelizing Action, recently approved by the 48th Pastoral Assembly of the North Region 1 of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil (CNBB)."
The New Guidelines, which will accompany the life of the dioceses and prelatures of the North Region 1 until 2023, are based on the Guidelines for Evangelizing Action of the National CNBB and on the post-synodal exhortation Querida Amazônia and the entire synod process lived during the Synod for the Amazonia, convened by Pope Francis in October 2017 and which had its Synodal Assembly in October 2019, with the participation of the bishops of the North Region 1 of the CNBB, among them Dom Marcos Piatek, as well as priests, religious, lay men and women , and representatives of indigenous peoples.
The Bishop of Coari recalls that in the New Guidelines for Evangelizing Action of the North Region 1, the third line for evangelizing action, speaks of the "Servant and Life Saving Church", with the Fazenda da Esperança being an expression of this line. According to Mgr. Marcos Piatek, “the event is in line with Pope Francis' Social Dream in the Dear Amazon” and gathers ideas that appear in the encyclical “Fratelli tutti”.
Finally, the diocesan bishop of Coari says he wants to “thank God and all the people who prayed, who donated their lives and who collaborated materially. May this profoundly human, biblical and ecclesial work be abundantly blessed by God and protected by Mary and Saint Raimundo”.
